SWISS FILMS
New impetus for Swiss cinema
22.01.2023
SWISS FILMS, the promotion agency for Swiss filmmaking, intensifies its international communication with a digital focus. Jörn Kohlschmidt joined the team and, since January, the design studio Onari Projects has been in charge further developing the overall corporate design.
Following last year’s call for proposals, SWISS FILMS selected Onari Projects (Anina Amacker, Stephanie Cuérel, Sophia Goedecke and Laura Moor). The young Swiss design studio will further develop the existing corporate design with a digital focus. Priority was given to the following criteria in the choice of studio and the concept of the current visual identity of SWISS FILMS: quality, innovation and Swissness – characteristics that also distinguish successful Swiss films on an international level.
Onari Projects brings extensive digital know-how to the table. The “Teena App”, which they co-developed, not only won three gold awards for the “Best of Swiss Apps 2022”, they were also named “Master of Swiss Apps”. Onari Projects has taken over the mandate from Studio NOI. The Zurich designers Simone Koller, Corina Neuenschwander and Jalscha Römer created the SWISS FILMS corporate design from scratch in 2017.
SWISS FILMS director Nicola Ruffo: “Studio NOI has created an elegant, attractive CD. Its sleek language leaves plenty of space for new ideas for the promotion of Swiss cinema.” For instance, Studio NOI’s design of the SWISS FILMS pavilion at the Cannes film market (in collaboration with designers Klauser Lienhard), won the award for the most outstanding pavilion in 2017.
Also internally, SWISS FILMS set a new focus: Jörn Kohlschmidt joined the team as a marketing expert at the beginning of January to further enhance the international communication profile. Kohlschmidt has several years of experience at communications agencies as a PR consultant and in campaigning. With his expertise, he will support SWISS FILMS in amplifying the digital impact for the Swiss film industry abroad. He takes over from Rowena Raths, who has joined ZHdK. In addition, Zoé Clémence joined the communications team as an intern. The one-year internship is explicitly intended for graduates and provides in-depth insight into international communication for Swiss films.
