Swiss films in competition at film festival in Angers (F)

Four Swiss films will be presented at the “Premiers Plans” film festival in Angers, which runs from January 18 - 27, 2008 and is celebrating its 20th jubilee this year. Three of the films will participate in the new competition section devoted to animation films: “Plan Animés”. While two of these films are films by graduates of Lucerne’s University of Art & Design – “La main de l’ours” by Marina Rosset (its world premiere) and “The Bellringer” by Dustin Rees – the third film is “Le printemps de Sant Ponç” by David Epiney and Eugenia Mumenthaler. Apart from the competition, the documentary film “Chrigu” by Jan Gassmann and Christian Ziörjen (production: Diagonal, Zurich) will be screened in the “Figures Libres” section.
The three Swiss short films in the “Plans Animés” section will be competing against a total of 21 film productions for the Grand Jury Prize, amounting to 1,500 euros. Film director Marina Rosset will attend the festival in the Loire region of France.
