“Bazar”, the new fiction film by Genovese director Patrizia Plattner, starring Bernadette Lafont in the leading role, and “Plus là pour personne”, the fiction film debut by Jean-Laurent Chautems, will celebrate their world premieres at the 24th Festival International du Film Francophone in Namur (October 2-9, 2009). The Swiss documentary film “Ceux de la colline” by Berni Goldblat will participate in the Official Competition, together with twelve fiction and two documentary films. The screening of the box-office hits “Home” and “La Forteresse” as well as three short films, round off the Swiss presence at this festival in southern Belgium, which serves as a major platform for filmmakers from the French-speaking regions of Switzerland and for coproductions with other francophone countries.
The film “La Délogeuse” by Julien Rouyet will be screened in the International Short Film Competition, together with eleven other films. The short films “Cartographie 9 – La Boule d'Or” by Bruno Deville and “Racines” by Eileen Hofer will be presented in the “Regards du present” section, together with Patricia Plattner’s “Bazar” (production: Light Night, Geneva). The film is a coproduction with Portugal and tells of the love between an antique dealer, well over sixty years old, and a young artist, whose past soon catches up with the happy couple. Screened in the First Film Competition will be the film “Plus là pour personne” by Jean-Laurent Chautems. In this coproduction with France (production: PS Productions, Vevey), a car accident brings together the lives of four people who are forced to face the fact that their lives cannot evolve anymore.

Ursula Meier’s fiction film “Home”, a coproduction between Belgium, France and Switzerland, will be showcased among the francophone Belgian films in Namur. The co-author of the screenplay, Antoine Jaccoud, is one of the six experts participating in the 6th Forum of Francophone Production. Fernand Melgar’s documentary film “La Forteresse” will be screened in the «FIFF Campus» section.

Filmmakers Patricia Plattner, Jean-Laurent Chautems, Berni Goldblat and Julien Rouyet will attend the festival in Namur to present their films personally.
