Swiss films at international Molodist festival in Kiev

The 37th Molodist International Film Festival, taking place in Kiev, Ukraine, from October 20 – 28, 2007, will present seven Swiss films in a variety of programs. The Swiss co-production “Pas douce” by Jeanne Waltz will be shown in the “French Cinema Today” section. Western Swiss director Marina Rosset will introduce her animated film “Botteoubateau” in the film school competition along with 25 student works.
Swiss filmmaking is retrospectively represented with the feature film “Ludwig 1881” (1993) by brothers Donatello and Fosco Dubini in the “Teddy and His Friends” program. Similarly, “Schatten der Engel” (1976) by Daniel Schmid will screen as part of a Special Event program. A ten-film retrospective honoring French actress Isabelle Hupport also includes three Swiss co-productions: “La dentellière” (1977) by Claude Goretta, “Loulou” (1980) by Maurice Pialat, and “Sauve qui peut (la vie)»” (1980) by Jean-Luc Godard.
