Petra Volpe’s film “Frühling im Herbst” produced for Swiss television was honoured with the German Television Film Award 2010 of the German Academy of Performing Arts. The Student Prize of the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy in Ludwigsburg also went to this television film, which was produced by Zodiac Pictures in Lucerne. The award ceremony was held in Baden-Baden on November 19, 2010.
"Frühling im Herbst" marks the first time a Swiss film production for television has won this award. The film is a romantic comedy about Leni, a widowed baker, and Toni, the young Argentine dance teacher, in a village in Aargau. The jury, presided over by journalist and former executive director of the "Filmstiftung Nordrhein-Westfalen" Michael Schmid-Ospach, was completely convinced by film: "Petra Volpe depicts a small world with a vast degree of humanity. Her film is moving because of its repose, its subtle poetry and an endearment which in no way taunts the characters, but rather takes them by the hand."
