Swiss film in International Competition in Tampere (Finland)
The 42nd Tampere Film Festival (March 7-11, 2012) will screen 65 short films from all over the world in the International Competition, one of which is the 18-minute fiction film “À quoi tu joues” by Jean Guillaume Sonnier.

The 42nd Tampere Film Festival (March 7-11, 2012) will screen 65 short films from all over the world in the International Competition, one of which is the 18-minute fiction film “À quoi tu joues” by Jean Guillaume Sonnier. The black-and-white film, which was shot during Sonnier’s studies at the ECAL in Lausanne, is in the running for the festival’s Grand Prix, amounting to EUR 5,000. The winner of this award qualifies as a candidate for an Oscar nomination.
The film “À quoi tu joues” celebrated its premiere last year at the Locarno International Film Festival. It is about a former ice figure skater who falls in love with a mysterious young woman while looking for a flat to rent. Julia Batinova, the young actress from Romandy, stars in this role.
The Tampere Film Festival was founded in 1969 and is Scandinavia’s oldest and most important film festival for short films. It is accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF) and presents more than 600 short films of all genres every year.
