The 30-minute short fiction film “Prémices” by Pao Paixao will celebrate its world premiere at the 41st Tampere Film Festival (March 9-13, 2011), with the director in attendance. The film, about the desires and longings of three young adults, is in the running for the festival’s Grand Prix together with 68 other works from 40 countries.
"Prémices" depicts the relationships between one man and two women who have lost themselves in their passions, as well as their innocence. Pao Paixao produced the film in conjunction with his Master studies in directing and scriptwriting at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK).
The film festival in Tampere was founded 1969 and is the oldest and most important festival for short films in Scandinavia. It is accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF) and presents more than 600 films of all genres every year. This year approximately 4,000 film productions were submitted for selection in the international competition.
