Swiss documentary films celebrate premieres in Duisburg
Four Swiss documentary films will be screened at the 34th Duisburger Filmwoche, whose theme this year is “Horizont” (November 1-7, 2010). Alexander J. Seiler’s film portrait of sculptor Karl Geiser (1898 – 1957) “Geysir und Goliath” will celebrate its world premiere in Duisburg.

The film "A Road Not Taken" by Christina Hemauer and Roman Keller and will celebrate its German premiere in Duisburg. It is a cinematic study travels back in time to take a closer look at US President Jimmy Carter's visionary energy programme, a part of which was having solar panels installed on the roof of the White House.
Heidi Specogna's film "Das Schiff des Torjägers," which celebrated its premiere in the Critics' Week section of the Locarno International Film Festival 2010, reconstructs the case of the "slave ship" that transported children as cheap labour from Benin to Gabun, an affair involving a former football professional who owns the ship.
The film "Die grosse Erbschaft" by Fosco and Donatello Dubini celebrated its premiere last week in Leipzig. It searches traces as well, with a house in Ticino that has burned down and serves as the point of departure for a study about an Italian immigrant family.
Five awards amounting to a total sum of EUR 20,000 will be presented by various juries at the Duisburger Filmwoche.
