Swiss documentary film awarded in Innsbruck

At the International Film Festival Innsbruck, “Zwischen den Welten” (Between worlds) (Production: Reck Filmproduktion, Zurich) was awarded the Christian-Berger Documentary Film award with a prize sum of 1,000 Euro. The author and filmmaker Yusuf Yesilöz, who resides in Switzerland, was in attendance for the award ceremony.
“Zwischen den Welten” presents the story of Güli Dogan, a woman who immigrated to Switzerland from a Kurdish village in Turkey at the age of nine, and is now leading a professionally and socially well integrated existence. The film premiered at the Solothurn Film Festival and was shown for four weeks at the Loge cinema in Winterthur, where the main character lives. The film has also been broadcast on SF 1 and 3sat television stations, and it has received additional invitations to international film festivals.



The International Film Festival Innsbruck has films from and about Africa, Asia, and Latin America as its main focus. The documentary film prize was awarded for the second time in 2006 and bears the name of famous Tirolian cameraman and filmmaker Christian Berger (“Caché” by Michael Haneke).
