At the 17th Film Art Festival, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, which took place in Schwerin, Germany, from May 1-6, 2007, the Swiss director Oliver Rihs won the NDR Director’s award (5,000 Euro) for his Berlin multi-episode film “Schwarze Schafe/Black Sheep”. Oliver Paulus won the Special Prize of the Jury at the 11th Schermi d’Armore festival (April 26 – May 6, 2007) for co-directing the film “Wir werden uns wiederseh’n/ So Long, My Heart!” along with Stefan Hillebrand.
The North Italian festival presents nine first and second time feature films in its international competition. The jury, which is comprised of four actors and one screenwriter, bestowed the “Premio speziale Stefano Reggiani” to “So Long, My Heart!”” and noted that “the film successfully combined experimentation with practicality as well as lightness in its tone with a deep sensitive vision of life.”

The feature film jury in Schwerin, with three actors, one director, and a television editor as its members, justified the award for Oliver Rihs’ “Black Sheep” as follows: “This film takes us on a crazy journey through Berlin and does so with a physical intensity for all of us to wake up. Oliver Rihs managed to unscrupulously create free space with his anarchistic humor and with his blatant and fast production. Without restraints, he allows room for “joy of play” and inspires the actors for peak performances in the name of “Trash”.
