Vladimir Perisic’s fiction film “Ordinary People”, a French-Serbian-Swiss coproduction (Prince Film, Geneva), is one of the seven feature films participating in the 48th International Critics’ Week competition in Cannes (May 14-22, 2009). This debut film is in the running for the Grand Prix, which is awarded by the press, as well as for the Caméra d’Or Award, presented to the best first feature film from all sections of the Cannes Film Festival.
“Ordinary People” tells the story of seven soldiers who are taken to an unknown destination by bus early one morning. Among them is twenty-year-old Dzoni. As they arrive at an abandoned farm in the middle of a field, the soldiers sense that they will soon have to go into action…

Since it was founded by the French Union of Film Critics in 1962, The International Critics’ Week in Cannes has remained true to its tradition of discovering new talent, showcasing first and second feature films by directors from all over the world.
