Strong Swiss presence in Vancouver

At the 26th Vancouver International Film Festival, taking place from September 27 to October 12, 2007, Switzerland will be represented with three films and three co-productions. This most important festival held in British Columbia will present the feature film “Wir werden uns wiederseh’n” by Oliver Paulus and Stefan Hillebrand in the “Cinema of Our Time” section, in which the audience selects the best international film. In the “Nonfiction Features” section, the documentary films “Heimatklänge” by Stefan Schwietert (Production: maximage, Zurich) and “Le théâtre des opérations” by Benoît Rossel (Production: PCT Cinéma Télévision, Martigny) will be shown.
In these sections, three Swiss co-productions with foreign directors can also be discovered: the feature film “La Stella che non c'è” by Italian director Gianni Amelio and co-produced by Carac Film, Berne, the film “Madonnen” by German director Maria Speth and co-produced by Cineworx, Basel, as well as the documentary film “Staub” by German director Hartmut Bitomsky and co-produced by Zurich company Dschoint Ventschr.
The Vancouver International Film Festival attracts a large audience in addition to members from the film industry.
