18.09.2006

Featuring actors Pola Kinski, Tom Jahn, and Isolde Fischer, the film «So Long, My Heart!» by Oliver Paulus and Stefan Hillebrand will celebrate its premiere at the 54th San Sebastian International Film Festival (September 21 – 30, 2006). Along with 17 additional films, it will compete for the Altadis New Director’s Award, which comes with a prize sum of 90,000 Euro. This is one of the highest-prized, international awards and will be bestowed in the «Zabaltegi – New Directors» section. In the «Zabaltegi – Pearls» section, which presents the most successful movies of the year, the film «Vitus» by Fredi M. Murer (Production: Hugo Films, Zurich) will be shown, with the director in attendance. The audience will select its favorite film among the eleven films in this series, all of which have previously been screened at international festivals. The audience award comes with a prize sum of 30,000 Euro. Swiss actor Bruno Ganz is a member of the festival jury presided over by Jeanne Moreau.
With their second long feature film «So Long, My Heart!», Oliver Paulus and Stefan Hillebrand combine several encounters and partings at an elderly home in episodic and documentary-style fashion. The three main protagonists, who are all employees at the place, are played by Pola Kinski, the older daughter of Klaus Kinski, and the two actors Tom Jahn and Isolde Fisher (main actress in «When the Right One Comes Along»). Both actors are well versed in improvisational play. Isolde Fischer and the two directors Paulus and Hillebrand will be in attendance at the premiere of their film.

For their first-time feature «When the Right One Comes Along», which was shown in the 2003 competition of the «Zabaltegi – New Directors» section, the filmmaker duo received an honorable mention by the jury.
