The 21st São Paulo Festival International Short Film Festival (August 19-27, 2010) will screen six Swiss short films, four of which are in the international programme: the fiction films “Schonzeit” by Irene Ledermann and “Ich bin's Helmut” by Nicolas Steiner; the animation film “Allons-y ! Alonzo !”, a Swiss coproduction by Français Camille Moulin-Dupré; and “Fuori dal gregge” by Matteo Gariglio, who will present his short documentary film personally at the festival in São Paulo.

Films screened in the international programme, comprised of 71 films from all over the world, are in the running for the Audience Prize. Two other short film productions round off the Swiss presence in São Paulo: the fiction film "Las Pelotas" by Chris Niemeyer - awarded the Quartz Swiss Film Prize 2010 - (screened in the Latin American programme) and the animation film "Frère Benoît et les grandes orgues" by Michel Dufourd.

The festival in São Paulo, together with the one in Rio de Janeiro, is the most important festival for the short film genre in Brazil.
