Six Swiss short films at Festival in Brittany

The 22nd Brest European Short Film Festival, which runs from November 10, – 18, 2007, is presenting six Swiss films in its program. The short film “(Alp)Traum” by This Lüscher is participating in the “Cocotte Minute” competition. The competition features 14 fiction and experimental films, all of which are under six minutes. The two short fiction films “Le créneau” by Frédéric Mermoud and “René” by Tobias Nölle will be screened in the “Brest Off” program. And the films “Botteoubateau” by Marina Rosset, “The Cleaner” by Dustin Rees and “Le printemps de Sant Ponç” by David Epiney and Eugenia Mumenthaler are all scheduled to be screened in the panorama of animation films.
Filmmakers Marina Rosset and Dustin Rees will travel to Bretagne to present their works personally. Following Clermont-Ferrand, the festival in Brest is France’s second most important short film festival. Ist main objective is to promote the discovery of new European talents in the genre of short fiction film.
With ist film market, retrospectives and parallel programs, the festival provides film professionals approximately 700 short films, 250 of which are shown to a sizeable audience (42,000 admissions in 2005).
