Five films have made the shortlist as the Swiss candidates for an Oscar nomination in the category of Best Foreign Language Film:
I'll be the goalie by Sabine Boss; The Circle by Stefan Haupt; Left Foot Right Foot by Germinal Roaux; Dreamland by Petra Volpe; and Keep rollin’ by Oliver Paulus and Stefan Hillebrand. A jury appointed by the Federal Office of Culture determines which film will represent Switzerland in Hollywood. The Swiss candidate for an Oscar will be announced on September 20 at the closing ceremony of the Delémont Hollywood Festival, which has presented screenings of the shortlisted films since 2009. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Hollywood will announce the Oscar nominations in January 2015. The Oscars will be awarded in the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on March 22, 2015.
