"Sennentuntschi: Curse Of The Alps" was screened at the end of September at the Austin Fantastic Fest (September 22-29, 2011), the largest festival for this film genre in North America. Following the Berlin & Beyond Film Festival in San Francisco, Michael Steiner will present his film at further festivals and universities in Los Angeles, Denver and San Diego until November 10.
A total of five feature films by notable Swiss directors, including Stefan Haupt's "How About Love" and Alain Gsponer's "Lila, Lila," coproduced in Germany, will be screened at the Berlin & Beyond Film Festival. Michaela Müller's internationally award-winning animation film "Miramare" and the documentary film "Joschka und Herr Fischer" by German director Pepe Danquart (coproduction: Dschoint Ventschr, Zurich) round off the strong Swiss presence in San Francisco.
The Berlin & Beyond Film Festival is organised by the Goethe-Institut in San Francisco and serves as a gateway for its audience to experience a selection of new films from German-speaking countries. The audience votes on the winner of an award endowed with 5,000 dollars.
