Zurich’s Rolf Hellat was honoured with the “Förderpreis Schnitt,” an editing award endowed with EUR 2,500, for his work on the short film “I ovo je Beograd” (director: Corina Schwingruber Ilić). This was the first time film editors from Austria and German-speaking Switzerland could also submit an entry for this award, which is devoted to young talent. The award ceremony was held in the Museum Ludwig in Cologne on November 28, 2011.

The film essay, produced at the Lucerne School of Art and Design, captures moments of everyday life in Belgrade in rapid, succinct sequences. The jury honoured Hellat's editing as follows: "With a laconic yet endearing perspective, Rolf Hellat has composed a portrait of Belgrade. He has succeeded with tremendous ease in switching between protagonists, scenes and moods, thereby portraying a multifaceted view of mentalities and people with a great deal of wit. And this is indeed Belgrade..."

Six film editors were nominated for this award.
