Prize for Charlie Chaplin Biography in New York

The Swiss documentary film “Charlie Chaplin – The Forgotten Years” by Felice Zenoni (Production: Mesch & Ugge) won the bronze “World Medal” at the 46th New York Film Festival on January 30th. At this festival, over the course of the year, prizes are given out in different categories ranging from TV and radio productions to internet design and television ads.
The one-hour biography portrays the last year’s of Charlie Chaplin’s life in exile in Switzerland. The film shows largely unknown archival footage along with interviews with international stars such as Peter Ustinov, Petula Clark, Arthur Cohn, and Liselotte Pulver. In spring 2003, it reached the finals at the “Rose d’Or” competition in Montreux, Switzerland, and has been broadcast on the Swiss television channels (SRG SSR idée Suisse).
