Over 100,000 movie tickets sold for “Late Bloomers” in Germany
21.05.2007
More than 100,000 moviegoers have seen the comedy “Die Herbstzeitlosen/Late Bloomers” by Bettina Oberli (Production: Catpics, Zurich), which the Berlin distribution company X-Verleih launched in Germany with 46 copies at the end of March. On an international scale, this confirms the film’s success story, which began in Swiss movie theatres with approximately 550,000 tickets sold.
The film, which plays in the Swiss Emmental region and is presented in Swiss German, has been enthusiastically embraced by its audience. Its combination of Swiss dialect and German subtitles appears to have a particular appeal. The German press has euphorically commented on the film and has accompanied its release with numerous in-depth and positive reviews.
