Over 100,000 admissions for "Complices" in France
15.02.2010
Frédéric Mermoud’s feature film debut “Complices” – a Swiss-French coproduction (Saga Production, Lausanne) – has already been seen by more than 100,000 viewers in France. The film was recently launched in French cinemas with 120 prints by Pyramide Distribution on January 20, thereby achieving a very satisfactory result.
With 116 prints, “Complices” recorded ticket sales of 58,878 in the first week alone. As a comparison: this result ranks higher than for the film “Le refuge” by the star director François Ozon, which was launched with 117 prints. Exceeding the 100,000-admission mark constitutes one of the best results for a film by a Swiss director in France in recent years, together with “Home” by Ursula Meier (2008) and “Bienvenue en Suisse” by Léa Fazer (2004).
The film “Complices”, which depicts a homicide case from the perspective of the young victim and the police inspector assigned to the case, will be released in cinemas in the French-speaking region of Switzerland on March 31 (distributor: Vega Distribution, Zurich).
