Murnau Award for “Yuri Lennon's Landing On Alpha 46” in Wiesbaden

The Berlin-based director Anthony Vouardoux, from Valais, was honoured with the Short Film Award of the Murnau Foundation for his 15-minute film “Yuri Lennon's Landing On Alpha 46.” The Swiss-German coproduction was among the ten works presented with an award, endowed with EUR 2,000, at the Caligari Filmbühne in Wiesbaden.

The Berlin-based director Anthony Vouardoux, from Valais, was honoured with the Short Film Award of the Murnau Foundation for his 15-minute film "Yuri Lennon's Landing On Alpha 46." The Swiss-German coproduction was among the ten works presented with an award, endowed with EUR 2,000, at the Caligari Filmbühne in Wiesbaden.

This year marks the 17th Murnau Short Film Award presented by the foundation. The award goes to contemporary audience-effective short film productions especially suited for cinemas. And this marks the 14th international award for "Yuri Lennon's Landing On Alpha 46," winner of the Swiss Film Prize "Quartz 2011" as Best Short Film.

"Yuri Lennon's Landing On Alpha 46" is currently on tour in eight German-speaking cities in Switzerland until the end of May in conjunction with the Short film Night, which is organised by SWISS FILMS. The film is also included in the "Nuits en Or du Court métrage" programme, which tours 13 cities in France and seven cities in Europe. The programme has been organised for the fifth time by the French César Academy and will be making a stop at Kino Scala in Geneva on May 18 and at Kino Odéon in Morges on May 19.
