Munich Filmfest with Swiss presence

13.07.2006

At the 24th Munich Filmfest, taking place in the Bavarian provincial capital from July 15-22, 2006, several Swiss films and co-productions will again be part of the festival program. The documentary film “Das kurze Leben des Jose Antonio Gutierrez/The Short Life of José Antonio Gutierrez” by Heidi Specogna (Production: PS Film, Zurich) will be shown in Europe for the first time after celebrating its premiere at the 2006 Sundance festival in January. Another politically controversial documentary is the Argentinian-Brazilian-Swiss co-production “La Dignidad de los nadies/ The Dignity of the Nobodies” by Fernando Solanas (Production: Thelma Films, Zurich), which will be shown in the International Program. Swiss director and long-time Germany resident Markus Imboden will present the first two parts of his television series “Auf ewig und einen Tag” (Forever and one day), with Heino Ferch, Fritz Karl, and Martina Gedeck in the main roles.
The Munich Filmfest, which does not include a competition section, will also present the film “Eden” by Michael Hoffmann (Co-production: C-Films, Zurich) in its “Neue Deutsche Kinofilme/New German Cinema” program. In addition, the short animated film and German-Swedish-Swiss co-production “Der vierte König” by Ted Sieger and Michael Ekblad will be shown at the Children’s Filmfest.
