“Max & Co” audience favorite in Annecy, France
17.06.2007
At the 31st Annecy International Animated Film Festival, which ended on June 16, 2007, the long animated Swiss film “Max & Co” took home the festival’s audience award. Produced by Fribourg directors Samuel and Frédéric Guillaume, and initiated by Swiss producers (Max-Lefilm, Lausanne), the film celebrated its premiere at Annecy and competed with eight additional animated films in an evening-filling program. The two directors, who happen to be twin brothers, were in attendance at the festival and accepted the “Cristal” festival trophy at the festival center Bonlieu together with producer Benoît Dreyer.
The long animated film “Max & Co”, which was shot in the town of Romont (Swiss canton of Fribourg), tells the story of a 15-year old fox named Max who sets off for the town of Saint-Hilaire in the search of his father. Over the course of his journey, he becomes a musician with the fly swatter company “Bzzz & Co” whose director is supposed to whip the company back into shape in rather peculiar ways.”
