Locarno 2012: Awards for Swiss documentary and short films
The Swiss competition entries had to be content with at this year’s Festival del film Locarno auxiliary awards – in contrast to last year, when the fiction film “Abrir puertas y ventanas” was honoured with two Leopards.

The two documentary films “The End Of Time” and “Image Problem” screened in the International Competition , as well as the three Swiss short film productions screened in the Pardi di domani national competition won awards at the 65th Festival del film Locarno (August 1-11, 2012).
Awards for the Pardi di domani
The film “Radio-Actif” by Nathan Hofstetter won the Pardino d’oro for Best Swiss Short Film, amounting to CHF 10,000. The Pardino d’argento, endowed with CHF 5,000, went to the film “L’amour bègue” by Jan Czarlewski, who had already won the the Pardino d’oro last year for “L’ambassadeur et moi.” This graduate from ECAL Lausanne also garnered the Cinema e Gioventù Jury Prize, endowed with CHF 1,500. The Action Light Prize for Best Swiss Newcomer went to Alice Riva with her film “Il vulcano.”
Environment Award and Special Mention for Swiss competition entries
“The End Of Time” by Peter Mettler was honoured with the Environment and Quality of Life Award, endowed with CHF 3,000, while “Image Problem” by Simon Baumann and Andreas Pfiffner received a Special Mention.
