Five Swiss classics in Guadalajara
The journey in Mexico continues: following the successful screenings of Swiss classics in the Cineteca Nacional in Mexico City, a selection of these films will be presented in Cineforo in Guadalajara from February 6-10.
04.02.2016
“Il bacio di Tosca” by Daniel Schmid opens the programme comprised of five fiction films, which includes Ursula Meier’s award-winning film “Home” and Alain Tanner’s unforgettable classic “La salamandre". Claude Goretta’s “L’invitation” and Yves Yersin’s “Les petites fugues” will also be presented.
Attending the programme is the Swiss film scholar Annemarie Meier, who has lived in Guadalajara since 1971. She teaches Film Analysis and Film Script at the Instituto Technológico de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO) and is the cofounder of the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG).
The series marks the launch of a high-quality programme that will be screened one month later at the 31st Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG) from March 3-13. Switzerland is featured as the guest of honour at the FICG, at which a broad range of current filmmaking will be showcased in a programme comprised of short and feature-length film productions.
Thereafter, a selection of current festival films will be screened at the most important film festival in Latin America in the Cineteca Nacional in Mexico City.
