Concentrated Swiss presence in French cinemas

Starting on November 11 and staggered over the course of three weeks, two Swiss fiction and documentary films as well as a short film will be released each week in cinemas in France. This extraordinary presence of Swiss film productions on cinema screens in our neighbouring country will commence with the coproductions “Coeur animal" by Séverine Cornamusaz and “Au loin des villages” by Olivier Zuchuat. Then on November 18 Eric Bergkraut’s documentary film “Letter to Anna” and on December 2 Patricia Plattner’s fiction film “Bazar”. The short film “Les yeux de Simone” by Jean-Louis Porchet will also be screened on November 11, prior to the documentary film “L’enfer d’Henri-Georges Clouzot” by Serge Bromberg and Ruxandra Medrea.
Famous French film stars will draw attention to these films: Catherine Deneuve, who voiced the synchronised version of the film “Letter to Anna” in French, will attend the advance showing of the film in Paris on November 10. The showing of the documentary film, dedicated to the journalist Anna Politkowskaja, who was murdered three years ago, is in honour of her. The film has already been broadcast on television in many countries. French actor Olivier Rabourdin stars in the leading role of the film “Coeur animal” and leads the promotion of the feature film, coproduced by French ADR. For the film release of “Bazar”, the French distributor Alfama Films is working together with actress Bernadette Lafont, who had already worked with Patricia Plattner in “Les petites couleurs” (2002) and starred in the leading role.

The film will be also screened in conjunction with a festive tribute to Pierre Blondeau in Besançon on November 26. The book on the exemplary mediation work of the film club will be presented in conjunction with the edited version of the short film on DVD, which was supported SWISS FILMS.
