“Comme des voleurs” in New York

Under its English title “Stealth”, Lionel Baier’s second long feature film “Comme des voleurs – A l’Est” (Production: Saga Productions, Lausanne) will be participating in the 36th edition of the renowned New Directors/New Films festival, taking place in New York from March 21 – April 1, 2007. The internationally recognized event is without competition and focuses entirely on the discovery of new director talents (first and second films).
“Comme des voleurs” is one of the 26 long and 6 short films from around the world screened at the festival, which is organized by the Film Society of the Lincoln Centers in New York and the Film and Media Department at the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA). The film was previously shown at festivals in Sevilla and Montreal at the end of last year and won a jury prize in Mannheim, along with its theatrical release in the Western part of Switzerland. As part of the “La Belle Voisine” event, “Comme des voleurs” was also presented in several cities in the Rhone-Alps region in February, and it is one of the Swiss films featured in several capitals as part of the Francophone Month in March. In France, the film will be released in movie theatres in the fall (Distribution: Epicentre Films).
