Change in the presidency of SWISS FILMS: Catherine Mühlemann succeeds Josefa Haas

Catherine Mühlemann will be the new president of the SWISS FILMS Board of Trustees. The media entrepreneur will take over the office on January 1, 2021 from Josefa Haas, who has served as President of SWISS FILMS since 2007.
Catherine Mühlemann has a broad international experience as a media manager and entrepreneur. She began her career as a media specialist at the Swiss Television SRF. She then assumed various management positions, first as programme director at the first Swiss private channel TV3, then as managing director at MTV Central (Switzerland, Germany, Austria) and in the internationally positioned VIVA Media Group. Today, Catherine Mühlemann is a self-employed entrepreneur and member of the board of directors, including Vice President of Switzerland Tourism.
Josefa Haas took over the presidency of the SWISS FILMS Board of Trustees on June 1, 2007. During her tenure, the promotion agency developed various communication strategies in order to increase the visibility of the Swiss film industry. With the creation of a new database for the Swiss film industry, Josefa Haas significantly advanced the digital transformation of the organisation.
SWISS FILMS is the promotion agency for the Swiss film industry. On behalf of the Swiss Federal Office of Culture, SWISS FILMS strengthen the international presence of the Swiss film industry and the Swiss filmmakers through consulting, support measures and journalistic services. The foundation, which is organised under private law, maintains offices in both Zurich and Geneva.
