Cairo places Swiss fiction films in the limelight

Switzerland will have a prominent presence in the competition at the 32nd Cairo International Film Festival (November 18-28, 2008) with two films: the fiction film “Tandoori Love” by Oliver Paulus (Prod. Cobra Film, Zurich) and Tamara Staudt’s co-production “Nur ein Sommer” (Dschoint Ventschr, Zurich). In addition, Rolando Colla’s fiction film “L’autre moitié” (Peacock, Zurich) will be screened in the “Festival of Festivals” section at this festival, which is considered to be the most important in the Arab world.
Film director Oliver Paulus, from Solothurn, will attend the festival in Cairo to present his third long-playing fiction film “Tandoori Love” personally from November 18-22. The screening in Cairo means that the made-in-Switzerland Bollywood romance will celebrate ist premiere at one of the twelve international film festivals with a competition ranked in the ‘A’ category by the International Federation of Film Producers Association (FIAPF). The jury of the international competition is presided over by the Spanish actress Angela Molina.
