25.04.2006
At the 23rd EuropaCinema Film Festival in Viareggio, which ended today with an award ceremony and the screening of the winning film, Stina Werenfels won the award for «Best Film» with her feature production «Nachbeben» (Aftershock). The festival is dedicated to young European filmmaking and its jury is presided over by Margarethe von Trotta.
«Nachbeben» (Production: Dschoint Ventschr Filmproduktion, Zurich), had a successful festival start with its international premiere at this year’s Berlinale and has received great attention in Switzerland since its theatrical release in the German-speaking part of the country in the beginning of March, and since its premiere at the Solothurn Film Festival. In May, the film will be shown at the renowned Schwerin International Festival of Film and the Arts (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany), an audience-focused festival which presents a selection of European films that are regarded as one of a kind.
