Jarreth Merz’s film “An African Election” won the Audience Prize at the 17th Visions du Réel Film Festival. The prize is sponsored by the City of Nyon and endowed with CHF 10,000. The “Swiss Film” jury, comprised of three international film professionals, awarded the SRG SSR Prize endowed with CHF 10,000, to the German-Swiss coproduction “Raising Resistance” by Bettina Borgfeld and David Bernet. And the award from the Society of Swiss Writers (SSA) and Suissimage – also endowed with CHF 10,000 – went to the French-Swiss coproduction “Les lessiveuses” by Yamina Zoutat.

Ramon Giger's "Eine ruhige Jacke" was honoured with two Honourable Mentions: one from the Swiss Film jury; and the other from the "Regard Neuf" jury, with the following statement: "A highly sensitive film that provides the viewer with insight into the world of an autistic person. An extraordinary work involving perception and expression. The film is used as an instrument here."

The "Premiers Pas" jury awarded the "Romande Waadt and Geneva Lottery Prize," endowed with CHF 2,500, to the film "Con la licencia de dios" by Simona Canonica, with the following statement: The film deals with boundaries, telling of somewhere else and of waiting, as well as of absence in a village in the middle of the desert, in the middle of nowhere. It indirectly alludes to the living conditions of those who had to leave as well as to those who have remained. During this interval, in which time seems to stand still, a force emerges auf and prevails throughout the entire film: the power of a woman who breathes life into the film - from start to finish."
