Award for “Tandoori Love” in Cairo

Swiss film director Oliver Paulus was honoured with the “Best Artistic Contribution Award” for his film “Tandoori Love” at the 32nd Cairo International Film Festival (November 18-28, 2008). The nine-member international jury, presided over by Spanish film director Imanoel Uribe, presented the Golden Pyramid to the Spanish film "Retorno a Hansala" by Chus Gutierrez. The Silver Pyramid went to the Belgian film "Cut Loose" by Jan Verheyen.
“Tandoori Love” (production: Cobra Film, Zurich) tells of the romance between a Swiss waitress and the personal chef of an Indian film diva and is set in Bernese Oberland, the setting of numerous Bollywood productions. Following its international premiere at the Hof International Film Festival, the film was screened at the same time at film festivals in Cairo and in Goa (India). The film will be released in cinemas in the German-speaking region of Switzerland on January 8, 2009 (distributor: Filmcoopi).
