17.03.2008
The impressive career of the Swiss short film “Auf der Strecke” by Reto Caffi continues: it has been nominated, together with four other films, in the category of “Best European Film” for the 11th edition of the “Lutins du Court métrage”. In the running for these nominations were 27 short films from just as many European countries. The winners of the awards will be announced at the “Nuit des Lutins” in Paris on June 26, 2008.
The film “Auf der Strecke” has been honoured with numerous awards since its premiere at the Hof International Film Festival in October 2007, including the Grand Prix at the International Short Film Festival in Clermont-Ferrand and the “Quartz” for Best Short Film of the Swiss Film Prize 2008.
The “Les lutins du court métrage” event, which tours with a selection of French short films in 23 cities throughout France from March to June, will present the five European films in Paris and thereafter in forty cities abroad.
A jury selected from 2,000 French film professionals will present the prizes at the “Nuit des Lutins”, which will be held in Paris at the Théâtre National de Chaillot on June 26, with an expected attendance of 1,500.
Apart from the César Awards, the “Lutins”, initiated in 1998, rank among the most important awards for the genre of short film.
