Behind the scenes of the Carnival of Basle. In the course of one year, the camera accompanies several carnival societies during their preparations. Its lantern, mask and costume designers relate both their motivations and know-how. The balladeers, float societies and brass bands are also part of the film. In the end, the different artistic approaches and processes merge to create a multicoloured puzzle, the carnival.
Il film offre uno sguardo dietro le quinte dello storico carnevale di Basilea, seguendone per un anno i preparativi nascosti al pubblico e dando voce alle emozioni e ai sogni delle persone che si celano dietro le maschere.
