Tania, a cheerful young hairdresser with no history of trouble, sees her life turned upside down after the birth of her first child. She struggles to bond with her daughter. Distraught, she has no choice but to reconnect with her mother Christine, a woman she hasn't seen since she was born. What begins as a simple search for identity turns into a police investigation, in which each discovery brings them closer to danger. Christine, a former foster child haunted by years in an orphanage, discovers that some truths are better left buried.
