When the filmmaker’s grandmother passes away, the family home is put up for sale. It is purchased by a construction magnate who plans on tearing the house down. The loss of a generation is often followed by the loss of the parents’ home as the family meeting point when the children do not have the means to buy the home. The film portrays the months between the death and demolition, while illustrating how the family overcomes this situation, grieves, deals with the inheritance and carries on the traditions outside the walls that once held them together. It takes the viewer on a walk between the past and the present, between life and death.
