Mojtaba, Hamzeh, Zar and others have been pressured in prison and ideologically interrogated in Iran at different times in their lives. The director asks them to interrogate him as an agent of the Islamic Republic might. He would like the real torturer in Iran to see himself through the film as if in a mirror. The violent experience of actually putting themselves in the head of the torturer confronts them with what they are willing to do and the limits of the project itself.
