Around 1930, Alfred Métraux set out through the South American continent looking for the indigenous peoples threatened by extinction: the Mataco, Chipaya and Uros Indians. We re-trace Alfred Métraux’s itinerary 70 years later with ethnologist Alain Monnier. Covering more than 2,000 kilometers, from Argentina to Bolivia, we attempt to find out whether Alfred Métraux’s Indians still exist.
