The new organ in the Sistine Chapel is the work of “Mathis Orgelbau”, a Swiss firm in Näfels. Exactly how the firm came about receiving this prestigious commission and how the task was carried out is told by filmmaker Andres Brütsch in his documentary film. The most remarkable detail of this exceptional organ is the fact that must be mobile: after every “performance”, the organ, which weighs four tons, must be removed from the Chapel – and placed in a room located above it.
