Through the first-person account by the filmmaker, who came into contact with them after a tragic family event, the documentary follows a group of volunteers, the “care team”, delving into the motivations that drive them to take on the pain of strangers and asking a series of questions that concern us all: what is altruism? How do we come to terms with our ephemeral nature? And, ultimately, what really matters in life?
Attraverso il racconto in prima persona dall’autore, entrato in contatto con loro dopo un tragico evento familiare, il documentario segue un gruppo di volontari, il ”care team", scavando nelle motivazioni che li spingono a farsi carico del dolore di persone sconosciute, e ponendo una serie di domande che riguardano tutti noi: cos’è l’altruismo? Come veniamo a patti con la nostra natura effimera? E, in definitiva, cosa conta davvero nella vita?
