In the middle of Europe’s green lung there is a region in which people seem to live outside of our age and system of commerce. In the Romanian Carpathian mountains many farmers do not work for money, but only enough for their own needs. Their methods and tools are the same that common in rural regions of Switzerland during the 19th century. The chronicle of a village where everything is done by horse – at the dawning of modernity.
