Né en 1983 à Tucumán (Argentine). Bachelor en cinéma de l’Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, Argentine. Réalisateur, monteur et cinéaste à Genève. Études Master en cinéma à la HES-SO ECAL/HEAD (Haute École Spécialisée de Suisse occidentale).
Pablo Briones is an Argentinian-Swiss filmmaker working in a liminal space between documentary and fiction. After studying at HEAD and ECAL in Switzerland, he participated in a workshop in Cuba with Abbas Kiarostami and, recently, he took part of a Lab in the Amazon with Apichatpong Weerasethakul. His shorts «À beira de Lisboa», «A barca», «Pezcal» and «Les Traces» earned recognition at many festivals such as Locarno, Visions du Réel, Jihlava and Oberhausen. His feature film «Baracoa» was nominated for the Best Doc Award at Berlinale 69 and won the Youth Award at Sheffield Doc/Fest and the Audience Award at Málaga Film Festival.
