Jan-Willem van Ewijk

Born in 1970 in Delft, Netherlands. From 1996 to 2002 he first worked as an airplane designer and later as investment banker, before quitting his job and pursuing his dream of making films in 2002. He wrote, directed, edited and starred alongside his former banking colleagues, friends and family in his debut feature NU. (2006) which received a Special Mention for Best Debut Feature at the Dutch Film Festival. His second feature ATLANTIC. (2014), was selected for the 2009 Sundance Writer’s Lab and premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. After the pandemic, he shot two features back to back, PACIFICA. (2024) and ALPHA. (2024), the latter which premieres in Venice's Giornate degli Autori in competition.
