Darcy Alexandra
Screenwriter, Director
Born in 1967 in San Jose, California, USA. She studied filmmaking at the Center for Documentary Studies, Duke University and received her Ph.D. from the Centre for Transcultural Research and Media Practice, Dublin Institute of Technology in 2015. Her doctoral films, LIVING IN DIRECT PROVISION (2009), premiered at the Irish Film Institute and exemplify engaged participatory filmmaking. Since 2017 she is a researcher and lecturer in media anthropology at the University of Bern. THE WOMAN YOU LOOK FOR is her debut animated documentary.
