At the 19th International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IFA), which takes place from November 23 to December 3, 2006, and represents one of the most important platforms for documentary film worldwide, two films made in Switzerland will be presented. In the «Reflecting Images» section, the film «Carla’s List» by Marcel Schüpbach (CAB Productions, Lausanne) will be shown, while the film «Wintersong – A Film on Dakota Suite», produced by the Zurich School of Art and Design and directed by Pascal Hoffmann and Benny Jaberg, will be featured in the IFAcademy Film program.
In his film «Carla’s list», Marcel Schüpbach follows the chief prosecutor, Swiss citizen Carla Del Ponte, at the International War Tribunal in Den Haag, where she is fighting for the extradition of the last remaining war criminals from Former Yugoslavia. In the 52-minute long documentary film essay «Wintersong – A film on Dakota Suite», which was filmed in England, Pascal Hoffmann and Benny Jaberg provide insight into the unique inspirational world of musician Chris Hoosen and his band Dakota Suite.
