Twelve Swiss short films animate Annecy
Twelve films from Switzerland will be screened at the 38th Annecy International Animation Film Festival (June 9-14, 2014).

The Swiss short film production “Timber” by Nils Hedinger celebrates its festival premiere in the International Short Film Competition, as well as the French-Swiss coproduction “Le sens du toucher” by Jean-Charles Mbotti-Malolo. Also in the running for an award in this section are the Swiss-German coproduction “Patch” by Gerd Gockell, lecturer in the Animation Department at the Lucerne University of Applies Sciences and Arts (HSLU), and the award-winning Swiss-French coproduction “Hasta Santiago” by the Italian filmmaker Mauro Carraro.
Three films from HSLU screened in Graduation Films competition
Switzerland is also present in the Graduation Films competition with four short film productions, three of which are from the Lucerne University of Applies Sciences and Arts: “Éphémère” by Sophie Haller; “Grandpère” by Kathrin Hürlimann; and “IOA” by Gabriel Möhring. The fourth film is “Espero?” by Swiss filmmaker Simone Giampaolo, who studied at the Bournemouth University. Annette Schindler, artistic director of the Fantoche International Animation Film Festival in Baden, is a jury member of this section.
Geneva based Nadasdy Film presents five films in Annecy
Four further films from Switzerland will also be screened at the festival in Annecy: “Nain géant” by Fabienne Giezendanner and “Vigia” by Marcel Barelli, as well as two coproductions with the French Swiss Broadcasting Service RTS – “Dimitri” and “Le parfum de la carotte” – in the TV films competition. The latter three were produced by the Geneva based production company Nadasdy Films, as were the competition entries “Le sens du toucher” and “Hasta Santiago”.
