Swiss world premieres at Venice International Film Festival
The Italian-Swiss coproduction IL COLORE NASCOSTO DELLE COSE by Silvio Soldini and the debut film SARAH PLAYS A WEREWOLF will celebrate their premieres at the 74th Mostra Internazionale d’Arte Cinematografica (August 30-September 9, 2017).

IL COLORE NASCOSTO DELLE COSE, the new fiction film by the Italian-Swiss director Silvio Soldini, coproduced by Ventura Film in Ticino and RSI Radiotelevisione svizzera, will be screened in the Official Selection: Out of Competition. The Italian actress Valeria Golino stars in the leading role as the blind Emma. Ventura film has already coproduced several films by Soldini, most recently his documentary films PER ALTRI OCCHI and IL FIUME HA SEMPRE RAGIONE.
FOXTROT by Israeli Samuel Maoz has been selected for the Venezia 74 main competition. The film was produced by Israeli, German and French companies with Swiss coproducer Dan Wechsler from Bord Cadre films. The film will also be screened in the Special Presentations programme at the Toronto International Film Festival, starting September 7. Filmcoopi has the Swiss distribution rights.
Debut film in International Critic’s Week
SARAH PLAYS A WEREWOLF (SARAH JOUE UN LOUP-GAROU) is the first feature-length fiction film by the Swiss director Katharina Wyss, who studied at the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie in Berlin. The Swiss-German coproduction by Geneva based Intermezzo Films was selected as one of the seven debut works to compete in the independent International Critic’s Week. Furthermore, SARAH PLAYS A WEREWOLF is in the running for the Lion of the Future Award, which is presented to one of the debut films selected from the festival’s various sections.
The Italian-Swiss fiction film project THE GUEST by Duccio Chiarini will be screened at the Venice Gap-Financing Market, which presents international projects in the final stages of development and financing and runs parallel to the festival’s film market. The film was produced in cooperation with the Swiss company Cinedokke and RSI.
