Presentation of the data from the online survey

At the Solothurner Filmtage on January 21, 2022 we presented the first results of our short survey as part of an industry information session.
The non-representative online survey was sent by e-mail to over 1,000 filmmakers in Switzerland. More than 200 filmmakers participated and answered questions about the international promotion of the Swiss film as well as about SWISS FILMS. With the survey, we wanted to take the pulse of the industry and give filmmakers the opportunity to provide feedback and input.
International competition, the streaming boom and relations with the EU were named as the biggest challenges. International networks, the presence at international festivals as well as additional financing possibilities are accordingly considered to be of great importance for success outside the domestic cinema market. A great development potential is attested to the Swiss documentary film as well as co-productions - majoritarian as well as minoritarian. Personal networks, industry events and the SWISS FILMS website make a significant contribution to promotion and communication. The newly launched SWISS FILMS website has received positive feedback.
SWISS FILMS would like to conduct an online survey again next year and provide an opportunity to respond to the needs of the filmmakers.
