Swiss Fiction in Mannheim-Heidelberg in competition
03.11.2008
Genevese filmmaker Vincent Pluss will celebrate the European premiere of his second fiction film “The Noise In My Head” at the 57th International Filmfestival Mannheim-Heidelberg (November 6-16, 2008). The film is competing with 17 other works by newcomers in the international competition, the winner of which will be selected by a five-member jury, presided over by German film director Edgar Reitz.
The paths of two people cross in the film “The Noise In My Head”: that of a young journalist (Céline Bolomey) and a young man living in the streets of Geneva (Gabriel Bonnefoy). By means of an inner monologue, the film reveals their unspoken thoughts and emotions. Film director Vincent Pluss, who lives in Geneva and Berlin, won the Swiss Film Prize in 2003 for his debut film “On dirait le Sud”.
Also presented at the festival in Mannheim-Heidelberg, which specialises in discovering young talent among new film directors, is the film “Nur ein Sommer” by German director Tamara Staudt. This film was shot almost exclusively in Switzerland and was co-produced by Dschoint Ventschr in Zurich.
